Note: The cycle below was changed in 2013 to be much more effective.  The 2013
Treatment map was prepared just prior to treatment.

The Cycle (pre 2013) we needed to manage for treatment:

Ongoing:

Milfoil is identified in the Lake by residents, and reported to DES.

July/August:

Representatives from DES tour the lake, and map out the current milfoil infestation.

Septemebr/October:

The maps are provided to the Association, with a required removal process, with a
list of approved application Vendors.  The Association solicits quotes from these
vendors.

October/November:

The Association submits quotes to DES with request for funding.

January/February

DES informs the Association if they will be receiving any funds, and how much.

The Association then works on raising the balance.

The Selected Vendor requests a deposit from the Association, and then requests a
license from DES to perform the work, in accordance with the DES's original map
and procedure.

April/May

The State grants Licenses to the vendor, to perform work in accordance with
procedure and map created up to 10 months earlier.  Even if conditions have
changed (ie Milfoil has spread) at this point, there is nothing the vendor or the
association can do.

June/July

Treatment takes place.  The cycle begins again.
The information posted on this
website is believed to be
accurate and is based on
research, interviews, and
meetings attended by the
associations officers, directors,
and/or members.
